LCI receives significant contributions
SANFORD — LCI received donations in early September from Central Carolina Hospital and the San Lee Gun Club. Hospital CEO Doug Doris, in the left photo, presents a $1,000 check to LCI executive director Meg Moss. In the right photo, Margie Turberville presents a $1,500 check to Kyle Schneider, president of LCI's self-advocacy group. The Gun Club contributes regularly in memory of Margie's husband, Paul, who became an enthusiastic supporter of LCI after working on a construction crew renovating the LCI facility on Tramway Road.

As you might imagine, LCI operates in an alphabet soup of legislative programs, where even normal words can have unusual meanings. CAP-MR/DD, a commonly-cited Medicaid program, stands for the "Community Alternatives Program for Persons with Mental Retardation / Developmental Disabilities."
