LCI ROUNDUP:
Recent news and events

SANFORD — As spring arrives each year, activity seems to pick up with conferences on the schedule and new opportunities arising. Here's a roundup of recent news from LCI Inc.

LCI RECEIVES CASE MANAGEMENT ENDORSEMENTS. LCI Inc. has received endorsements through the Sandhills Mental Health Center to provide case management services and targeted case management services for individuals with development disabilities for residents of Lee, Moore, Harnett and a portion of Cumberland counties.

LCI POISED TO EXPAND SERVICES TO THE BLIND. Beginning in July, LCI will work with individuals who are blind and visually impaired in supportive employment services, helping them succeed in jobs within the community. The new offerings are part of a contract with Services for the Blind.

ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE SLATED. LCI Inc. and Central Carolina Community College will host the R.J. Cooper Assistive Technology Conference and Workshop on June 7 at the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center in Sanford. The event, focusing on technology used to help people with disabilities become more independent and unleash their creativity, will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. More details will be announced as they become available.

AWARDS MANAGER ATTENDS CONFERENCE. Though traditional trophies may not change much over time, new designs and products are added each year to the seemingly infinite variety of awards on the market. Libby Dew, awards manager for LCI Inc., recently attended a major trade show in New Jersey to review new products and services for LCI customers. She has returned from the Awards and Recognition Association Conference and Trade Show with new options offered by more than 160 vendors attending.

A BUSY SPRING: EVENTS ON THE CALENDAR. Participants in "Higher Me!," LCI's youth employment program, will be traveling to Fayetteville on June 14 for a regional youth rally and holding a recruitment party on April 20 at Ron's Barn in Sanford. These are just a few of the events on a very crowded spring calendar. For more, click here.

Founded in 1967, LCI primarily serves residents of Lee, Chatham, Harnett and Moore counties. The nonprofit organization provides manufacturing assistance and trained employees for business and industry, helps people with disabilities enjoy their greatest possible independence, and produces a full range of trophies, awards and engraving.
