Amid Flurry of New Activities
LCI Inc. Launches New Web Site
SANFORD With so much activity at LCI Inc., it can be hard to keep up with the latest news or training opportunities. To make that task easier, company officials launched a new web site earlier this week at www.lciinc.org.
"Our new web site has been in the works for a while," said executive director Tammy Koger. "But, it's become even more important since our new Assistive Technology Center opened and new programs are being offered."
The Assistive Technology Center, which opened earlier this year, helps people with disabilities use new technology to work more effectively. Koger said she receives regular inquiries about the center, and the web site will help people find quick answers at any time, day or night.
She also believes the site will help local residents and employers learn about new training opportunities launched over the last few months including LCI's Janitorial Training Program and a wealth of individualized services for economically-disadvantaged youth.
Not only does the new site provide information about the organization, as a whole, but it was designed to serve different client groups who rely on LCI.
"Over the years, LCI has expanded significantly," Koger said. "We've always existed to help people with disabilities enjoy independence, and that has not changed one bit. But, now, we have a wide variety of customers who are interested in different services that we provide."
All information about LCI is available throughout the new site. But, to make everything more accessible, LCI officials have created separate home pages for each of their client groups. Each one provides a different path to the same information:
- LCI Enrichment. Anyone interested in in-home and community-based services for people with disabilities can find information directly at www.lcienrichment.com.
- LCI Awards. Directors of sport leagues, school activities and business incentive programs can get information about trophies and awards directly at www.lciawards.com.
- LCI Careers. Employers looking for quality workers and employees seeking to become more competitive in the workplace can learn more at www.lcicareers.com.
- LCI Industry. Industrial managers who rely on LCI for assembly, packaging and other subcontracted work can access the site through www.lciindustry.com.
Founded in 1967, LCI primarily serves residents of Lee, Chatham, Harnett and Moore counties. The nonprofit organization provides manufacturing assistance and trained employees for business and industry, helps people with disabilities enjoy their greatest possible independence, and produces a full range of trophies, awards and engraving.
